Editorial standards and corrections

Responsible for editorial decisions: Brandsap · Corrections: contact@brandsap.com or, in the app, ⋯ on a card → Report a problem

1. What we publish

2. How an automated card is made

  1. Curivra reads the agency's feed every few minutes and identifies the agency, the exact feed and the event.
  2. A fixed template fills a card from the source's own fields (magnitude, place, time, alert type, area, end time). No generative AI writes or edits these cards.
  3. A separate automatic check compares every figure, name and time in the card with the source record. A card that fails is never published.
  4. Publishing rules approved by the operator then apply. A card is not published if the source information is more than 6 hours old, if a warning has less than 10 minutes left, or if the event is sensitive: possible casualties, a tsunami flag, an extreme warning or a tornado warning waits for a person to review it.
  5. Earthquake cards leave every feed 72 hours after the earthquake; weather cards leave when the alert ends. A held card whose event has ended is closed and can never be published late.
  6. Each card is labelled "Automated card from … data" and carries the source's credit line.

2a. Official statistics

Cards from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Bureau of Economic Analysis, the Census Bureau and the Energy Information Administration quote the agency's own summary sentences, word for word, after a fixed opening that names the agency and the release date ("The U.S. Census Bureau reported on October 15, 2026: …"). Curivra computes, rounds and rephrases nothing. The automatic check confirms that every figure, period, percentage, comparison and seasonal-adjustment label is the agency's. Where the agency's summary does not say how figures are adjusted, or marks a change as not statistically significant, Census cards add one fixed sentence restating the Bureau's own explanation; when that does not fit, an editor decides. A release is published automatically only within 6 hours of its scheduled time (12 hours for weekly fuel prices) and never before it. Corrections by the agency, annual and benchmark revisions, and releases the agency delayed always go to an editor. Statistics cards leave every feed 7 days after the release.

2c. Newsroom and research cards

Cards from government and agency newsrooms, open-access journals and preprint servers quote the item itself: the headline is its title (political and government newsrooms are named in it, for example "White House: …" or "Proposed rule: …") and the summary is its own opening sentences, or for a study its conclusion or findings, word for word, at most 60 words. A fixed opening says whose words they are and when ("The UK government said on October 28:", "A study published in Frontiers in Oncology on October 28:", "A research preprint posted on arXiv on October 27 (not peer-reviewed):"). Quotations are never shortened into a card. An independent check confirms that every sentence is the publisher's own, that the link is on the publisher's site and that the card carries only topics licensed for that source. A person reviews every item that accuses or names people in a case, reports deaths or violence, makes health, cure or vaccine-safety claims, imposes sanctions on named people, or, from a political office, reports no concrete act; all White House, Justice Department and bank-enforcement items are reviewed. Newsroom cards are published only within 72 hours of the item and leave every feed 7 days after it.

2b. Complaints

You can complain about a card, about your data or about your account in the app (You → Make a complaint, or a card's ⋯ → Report a problem → Make a formal complaint) or by e-mail to contact@brandsap.com.

4. Withdrawals

A card that is wrong, unsafe to keep up or no longer covered by a rights basis is withdrawn. It leaves every feed, its link stops working, and the app deletes copies on readers' phones. A source can be suspended at once, which removes all of its cards; every feed can also be switched off by an emergency switch without an app update.

5. Reader reports

Readers can report a card as inaccurate, not related to their interests, broken, or something else. Reports are reviewed daily during the test programme. A "not related to my interests" report is checked against the reader's chosen topics on our server; a confirmed mismatch is treated as a critical fault.
