1. What Curivra is
Curivra is a free news app. Each story is a short card that credits and links to its original source. Today Curivra is in a limited test, and its real-news cards come only from the government bodies, public agencies and open-access journals listed on our sources page, under the rights stated there. Some are written automatically by fixed templates, from official data (for example earthquake reports, weather alerts and economic statistics) or from the publisher's own sentences; every other card is written or approved by a Curivra editor. You see only stories from the topics you choose; topics you exclude always win, and Curivra never fills your feed with other stories. Curivra has no ads, no paid features, no comments and no posts by users.
2. Accepting these terms
Curivra is for adults: you must be at least 18 years old to use it. Before you start, the app asks you to confirm that you are 18 or older and to accept these terms; it links them and our privacy policy. We record the version you accepted (this is version 2026-11-04) and when, with your reader ID; the record is deleted with your data. If you do not accept, do not use Curivra.
3. Guest use and accounts
- You can read as a guest; the app creates a random reader ID for you.
- An account is optional. Sign-in uses Google Firebase Authentication with an e-mail and password or a Google account. Keep your password secure.
- You can delete your data or your account at any time, in the app or at https://curivra-public.briefly-app.workers.dev/delete/.
- We may suspend or end access that abuses the service (for example exceeding rate limits, attacking the service or breaking section 6). We may also end the test programme or the service; we will announce that in the app when we can.
4. Content and its limits
- Short cards, not full reports. The linked original is the authoritative source.
- Not an official warning service. Earthquake and weather cards summarise official data at a moment in time. They can be delayed, incomplete or out of date and are not official warnings or emergency advice. Always follow the issuing agency (weather.gov, earthquake.usgs.gov) and local authorities. Do not rely on Curivra for safety decisions.
- Statistics as published. Economic and energy cards quote the agency's own figures for a stated period. Agencies revise figures; the linked release is authoritative.
- Not advice. Nothing in Curivra is legal, medical, financial or safety advice.
- Statements are the publisher's. Cards from government and agency newsrooms quote the publisher's own words and say whose they are ("The White House said on …"). They are not Curivra's views and are not checked as true.
- Research cards. A card that begins "A study published in …" quotes one study's own findings; one study is not settled science and not medical advice. A card marked "research preprint (not peer-reviewed)" describes work that other experts have not reviewed yet.
- Automated cards. Cards labelled "Automated card from … data" are produced without a person reading each one first: a fixed template fills in the source's own figures, and a separate automatic check compares every figure, name and time with the source record before publication. The most sensitive items (possible casualties, tsunami flags, the most dangerous weather warnings, figures an agency revised or corrected) wait for a person, and some kinds of release (monetary policy, enforcement actions, health and safety announcements) are always approved by an editor. No generative AI writes any card.
- Corrections and withdrawals. Corrected cards are labelled. Withdrawn or expired cards are removed, and the app deletes its copies on your phone. See our editorial standards.
- Third-party links. Original sources open on the publisher's or agency's website under its own terms.
5. Intellectual property
- The Curivra app, its design and the card text written by Curivra belong to Brandsap or its licensors, except cards marked CC BY-SA (see below). Source material belongs to its owners and is credited on every card (see sources). Material from the sources on our sources page is used under the rights stated there (U.S. public domain, the UK Open Government Licence, Creative Commons licences or the publisher's permission); using it does not imply that any publisher endorses Curivra.
- You may read cards and share links to them for personal, non-commercial use. A shared link shows that card on our website to anyone who opens it, with a link to the original; a retracted or expired card is gone from shared links too. Do not scrape, bulk-download, republish or resell Curivra content, or use it to train machine-learning models, without our written permission.
- Open licences come first. The limits above cover Curivra's own work (the app, its design, its selection and its wording). They never limit what an open licence allows: text that a card quotes from a source under an open licence (such as Creative Commons or the Open Government Licence) may be reused under that licence, as its credit line says, and cards marked CC BY-SA (those made from TVmaze or Liquipedia data) are offered under the CC BY-SA licence their credit line names (creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0, /3.0).
- "Curivra" is the name of this service. It is not a registered trademark.
- Copyright complaints: see our copyright page.
6. Acceptable use
Do not try to reach staff or newsroom systems; get around rate limits, sign-in or interest filtering; reverse-engineer the service to scrape it; interfere with it; or use the feedback form to send unlawful content or other people's personal data.
7. Feedback you send
Feedback and problem reports are private and are not published. You allow us to use your suggestions to improve Curivra without any obligation to you. Please do not include sensitive personal information. If you believe a card is wrong, unfair or infringes your rights, you can make a formal complaint in the app (You → Make a complaint) or by e-mail: we acknowledge it within 24 hours and decide it within 15 days, with reasons (see our editorial standards).
8. Changes
Curivra is in development; features can change or stop. We will post changes to these terms with a new version and effective date. When a change is material, the app asks you to accept the new version before you continue; you can delete your data instead.
9. No warranty
Curivra is provided free of charge "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will be accurate, complete, timely, uninterrupted or error-free, and we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on a card. Our total liability for any claim about Curivra is limited to the greater of USD 100 or the amount you paid us for Curivra in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law (for example, for fraud), or your rights as a consumer that cannot be waived. Whether, and how far, these limits apply to you depends on the law that applies to you.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the next sentence, the courts at Nagpur, Maharashtra, India have jurisdiction over disputes about these terms or Curivra. If you use Curivra as a consumer, this choice of law does not take away the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may also bring a claim in the courts where you live if that law allows it. Before bringing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally. These terms contain no arbitration clause and no class-action waiver.
12. App stores
If you installed Curivra from Google Play, Google Play's terms also apply to your use of the store.
